1. Welcome to The Vind! A quick tour of the App.

In this quick 5 minute video, you’ll walk through all the areas of The Vind and learn about all the ways to plan for your perfect trip to the Texas Wine Country.


2. How do I create an account?

Joining The Vind starts with downloading the app from the Apple Store here. Once downloaded, open and click “Sign Up”. You’ll be asked to answer a few short questions to set up your profile. The questions we ask are to help us refine suggestions and promotional offers that we think you’ll like. Once you finish answering those questions, you’ll see our Home page.

To manage your profile, click the Person icon located on the Navigation panel at the bottom of the screen. From this page, you can upload your profile picture, give feedback, contact us, change your user name or reset your password.

3. Navigating the Home Page - It all starts here!

Welcome to our Home page! There are 5 main sections and it’s where you’ll start your planning:

  1. Create a Trip - Here’s where you will create your custom itineraries. Simply click, answer a few questions about your trip, your preferences, and trip dates, and you’ll instantly see a curated itinerary with recommendations for wineries/spirits, food, shopping, lodging, entertainment, events, and transportation.   2. Vind Recommended Itineraries - Need some inspiration? This area showcases ready made itineraries from The Vind Team of experts who live and breathe The Texas Wine Country. Itineraries are topic related, such as “First Trip to The Texas Wine Country” or “The Perfect Bluebonnet Experience”. Check back regularly for new itineraries.

  3. Blogger Recommended Itineraries - Want to travel like the Experts? The Vind has partnered with the best travel bloggers and industry influencers to create their own favorite itineraries.

  4. Where we Vind - with so much to do, this area highlights places, events, and activities we REALLY think you need to know about.

  5. Navigation Bar - at the bottom, you’ll find our navigation bar. In addition to a Home button, you’ll find a set of important icons.

 
 
 
  • My Trips (suitcase icon) - all your created, saved and shared itineraries can be easily accessed here

  • Explore area (map icon) - here you can research all the individual businesses, events, and activities listed by category or by map view. The Explore area is also where you can start an itinerary from scratch or add a business to your itineraries. Click here to learn more detail on how to use this area.

  • Profile and Settings (person icon) - here you can manage your profile, upload your profile picture, find your favorites folder of individual businesses you’ve discovered, contact us, or change your password.

 

4. Create A Trip - build your custom itinerary

Ready to create your own custom itinerary? Start by clicking the Create a Trip button and you’ll be asked to answer a few short questions about your trip, when you plan to travel, why you’re coming, who you’re coming with, and other questions that will help us refine your tastes and needs. The result is an instant itinerary filled with curated recommendations, organized by the following categories - wine and spirits, food, lodging, shopping, outdoor activities, events, and transportation.

Be sure to scroll to the bottom of your itinerary and hit “Save” or you will lose it. Once saved, you can find it in your My Trips section for easy access. Click here for more info on My Trips.

5. How do I find particulars on a business, event or activity?

The businesses, activities, and events are the foundation of everything we do on The Vind. We’ve curated a select group of over 250 businesses so you can build the perfect experience in the hill country. All our businesses, activities and events have their own page, where we showcase images, video, descriptions and other information such as hours and highlights we think you should know about. You’ll also find contact information and a map so you can get driving directions as you wind your way around the Wine Country. Need to contact the business, buy tickets, or make a reservation? All this can be done on the individual Business page.

Where do you access the Business Pages?

  1. When you Create A Trip, your itinerary contains all the recommended businesses. Simply click on any of them to drill down to the Business Page.

  2. Click on the Explore section (the map icon on the navigation bar) and you’ll find all our businesses in a list and map format.

6. What are Vind Recommended itineraries?

Looking for inspiration in a ready made itinerary? You’ll find it in our Vind Recommended itineraries. In this area of the app, you’ll find our favorite trips based on any number of topics, events, or holidays. Examples include “Exploring the Bluebonnet Trail”, “Spots to Hit for the Perfect Bachelorette Weekend”, and more. Check back often as we will constantly be adding new itineraries.

7. What are Blogger Recommended itineraries?

Want to travel like the experts? In this section, you’ll find itineraries from some of the best travel bloggers, industry influencers, and sommeliers around who have partnered with The Vind to share their favorite trip ideas. Like what you see? You can connect with them via their social media links directly from their page on The Vind.

8. How do I Explore all the businesses, events, and activities on The Vind?

The Explore area of The Vind showcases all of the 250+ businesses, activities, and events that make up the Texas Wine Country. You can search by the following categories wine/spirits, food, lodging, shopping, entertainment, events, and transportation. You can also search by Map view, so you’ll always know what’s around your location.

 
 

The Explore area is also the starting point to create your own itinerary from scratch and add businesses and events that you’ve discovered. Click here to learn more about how to start your own itinerary.

9. How do I create my own itinerary from scratch?

The Explore area also lets you create your own itinerary from scratch.

 
 
  1. Locate the Explore area in your navigation bar. You can search for all businesses and events on The Vind in this section, and view by category or map view.

  2. Tap on any business or event that you find interesting and would like to include in your new itinerary.

  3. You are now on the specific Business or Event page. Click the “+ Trip” button and you’ll be prompted to Start a New Trip.

  4. Give your trip a name and share your trip dates, if known. Dates are important, as The Vind sends out special promotions, event invitations, and news for your particular trip dates.

  5. Hit Save.

  6. Return to the Explore area and find the next business or event you’d like to add. Now, when you hit “+Trip”, you’ll see a new pop up window showing your newly created itinerary in the dropdown list. Click the itinerary name and hit Save.

  7. Add as many businesses and events to your new itinerary to create the perfect Texas Wine Country experience.

You’ll now find your new itinerary in your “My Trips” area for easy access. Here’s a short video on how to create your own itinerary from scratch.

10. How do I save my created itineraries?

Once you’ve finished answering your trip questions, a personalized itinerary will instantly be displayed with businesses sorted by categories like wine/spirits, food, lodging and more. If your happy with your itinerary, click “Save” located at the bottom of the itinerary or you will lose it. Once saved, you’ll find the itinerary in your My Trips area, which is the suitcase icon located on the navigation bar. All itineraries are sorted by trip date, with the most recent trips at the top.

11. How do I share itineraries with a friend?

You can share any Created Trip, Vind Recommended Trip, Blogger Recommended Trip, and even a business or event with a friend. Simply click the “Share My Trip” button, located at the bottom of a Created Trip, to share by email or text. For Vind and Blogger Recommended Trips, or businesses, you’ll see the share button located near the top of the page.

 
 

The person you are sharing with must have downloaded The Vind and created an account profile to see your shared itinerary or business. Click here for instructions on how to receive, open, and save a shared itinerary or business.

12. How do I receive an itinerary or business link from a friend?

Users of The Vind can share itineraries, businesses, and events with friends via text and email. The person you share with must have downloaded The Vind app from the Apple Store and completed an account profile to receive and view the information you’ve shared.

  1. Download The Vind app from the Apple Store.

  2. Open the app and create an account profile by completing a few questions.

  3. Keep the app open, go back and click on the link sent to you by your friend.

  4. Wait a minute, and the information will be found in the “Shared” folder in the My Trips area of the app. You can access the My Trips area in the navigation bar via the suitcase icon.

 
 

13. Where do I view itineraries I created or were shared with me?

The suitcase icon in navigation bar at the bottom will display all of your saved itineraries. Known as the My Trips section of the app, your itineraries are categorized by created, saved, and shared itineraries. Each section will hold itineraries by travel date, with the most recent at the top. To edit your itineraries, click here.

 
 

14. How do I edit or delete an itinerary?

This video will explain how to edit an itinerary to add or delete a business and show you how to delete a business from The Vind in full.

15. Where do I see all my shared, saved, and created trips?

All of your itineraries are saved in the My Trips area, which is the suitcase icon in the navigation bar.

 
 

Itineraries are saved in 3 folders:

  1. Created - itineraries made with our Create a Trip feature

  2. Saved - favorite Blogger or Vind Recommended itineraries will be found here

  3. Shared - itineraries shared with you by other Vind users

16. How do I manage my profile and settings?

The Profile and Settings page is located in the navigation bar and is represented by the Person icon. Here you can manage:

  1. Upload a profile picture, edit your username, reset your password, or delete your account.

  2. Locate your Favorites folder. These are individual businesses or events that you want to save and are not tied to a particular itinerary.

  3. Report an issue with the app or share feedback or suggestions. We’d appreciate both!

  4. Access this hand “How To Use The Vind” tutorial while you are out on the Wine Trail.

 
 

17. How often will I hear from The Vind via text or email?

The Vind is all about letting our users know about special promotions, news, new places to visit, or other information we think will be interesting to YOU. While we will send out regular, weekly emails with information about the area, we will also send you personalized information based on your preferences, trips, and profile. We do communicate by email and text. You can always opt out of any texts by emailing hello@thevind.com. Just know if you opt out, you’ll be missing out!

18. Is The Vind available for Android?

Yes, The Vind on Android launched in early June 2023. You can download on the Google Play Store today and start planning! The Android app works the same as the iOS version.

19. I have a suggestion or would like to report an issue

If you find an issue on The Vind, such as a broken link, on your Profile and Settings page under Report App Issues.

To make a suggestion for a new business or feature, click on the Feedback link, also in the Profile and Settings page.
